SOOO, many years ago we starting sending all of our clients to our BBB page as this is a platform in which ALC Design has no control on what is said and/or posted. We can not edit , modify or delete anything undesirable. We feel that this is a must and the most ideal way to ensure that you know exactly what kind of company and team you could be working with. These reviews are real, honest and glimpse into the folks that lived it. Showing you what we do and how we do it! Not just in the beginning but straight through to the end! As you may imagine in todays day and time getting positive reviews from happy clients can be challenging. Certainly easy to get negative ones though….lol! As we all know, all too well, life is busy and free time can be very limited with work, kids, family, friends and holidays to name a few. ALC Design is dedicated to client satisfaction while delivering a high quality project and in doing so can only produce so many projects in a year. That, coupled with the fact that the BBB will only keep three years of reviews on the site at any given time limits juts how many reviews that you can see at any time. We felt in order to get better understanding of what to expect we should let you see a bigger picture. SOOO, we thought we would let you see what was once posted to our BBB review page that has been removed by time.

Brian and the team from ALC Design did an absolutely amazing job on our house addition (360 sq. ft. living room and adjoining deck). The whole process was seamless. From the initial visits where they got to know our style, to the concept review, to the permitting, and to the construction – this team was top notch and responsive.
We really wanted to avoid hiring an architect and then having multiple GC’s bid for the job; so, the ability to package the design and build was a huge plus to us. We are also fist time renovators who did some research beforehand. As such, we heard all the horror stories of delayed and partially finished projects.
I’m confident that in the roughly three months it took to complete the project that there may have been 1- or 2-days TOTAL where there wasn’t some activity occurring. This is truly remarkable and speaks to the organizational skills of the team (GC Octo is the man). The final project is also really, really well done. All the subs did great work and were super respectful of the house. We are so incredibly happy that we opted to use Brian and his team from ALC.
We worked with ALC Design on a complete kitchen/dining room remodel. After speaking with many contractors who did not follow through or could not communicate well, meeting with Brian, the owner of the company, was refreshing.
Brian and his team are excellent at communicating, and very easy to work with. They understood our vision and worked within our budget to create a space that is beautiful and functional.
Our lead carpenter, Mark, showed up every single day, at the time we expected, and was very respectful of our family and space. We have three young kids and a dog, and Mark was incredibly careful with putting away his tools and cleaning up at the end of the day to ensure the space was safe for our family.
Every week Brian came by to check in on progress. It was honestly a pleasure working with our carpenter and seeing him transform our space. ALC Design took the stress out of what could have been a very stressful experience–there were no surprises, and we knew what to expect every day, week, and month.
I would absolutely work with them again and recommend them to friends and family without hesitation!
This is our second time working with Brian and his Team. We had such a successful experience working with him the first time we asked him to come back for our deck expansion and remodel. They did not disappoint from start to finish of the project!!
The craftsmanship and attention detail were exceptional. We could not be happier with the results.
Brian’s foreman, Chris, took the extra effort and time to accommodate all our needs and wishes. They added extra details such top-end decking and railings, window-boxing the decking, stairs and the lattice work. Not only does the deck look great, but it is also extremely solid, and provides plenty of room for our outdoor living space. It is like having another room added to our home. Additionally, they refurbished a dilapidated shed and made it look brand new. We highly recommend them for any home construction or design project!!
We couldn’t be happier with ALC Design. This was our first major remodel, for bathrooms at least 20 years old. From the initial meetings, through the design process with Galen, to the implementation and finish of the project, Brian, and Kris our lead carpenter, showed that they are 100% customer focused.
As first timers we very much put the project in the hands of the experts – Kris is superlative at everything he puts his hand to – but we were totally included and kept in the loop for everything that was happening in our house. Brian runs a tight ship, and it shows in how efficiently and smoothly our remodel went. The amount of thought, planning and meticulous work of the highest quality put in by Kris, backed by Brian checking in on our satisfaction throughout, means we can highly recommend ALC Design! We will certainly be back for our future project needs.
We recently completed a family bath and master bath remodel and a 3rd floor renovation and couldn’t be happier with the work completed by ALC Design. We would highly recommend them as we are thrilled with the final look of each project.
Our master bath was 20 years old and has been completely transformed into a luxury spa that is absolutely gorgeous. Our family bath was also updated and is now bright and beautiful but the project that resulted in the biggest change was our attic. it is now an absolutely magnificent space including a bedroom, a 2nd bedroom/ sewing room, TV area, gorgeous bathroom and a bunk room with the capacity to sleep 12!
The final project came out more beautiful than we could have imagined and has been a joy to use and has been used often.
It was an absolute pleasure to work with Brian, and our project manager, Tom, and also Will and Jim. Everyone was professional and a pleasure to work with. They helped us formalize our ideas and very creatively improved on our ideas to create a fantastic space. The preparation and project plan that was completed in our initial meetings created a process that flowed smoothly and allowed us to be aware of the plan for the work to be completed each day – there were no “surprises” throughout our 4-month experience.
Communication regarding the project and throughout the project was excellent as any concerns or issues were promptly addressed. Despite the amount of work done and the number of craftsmen in our home at any one time, the work areas were always immaculate at the end of the day. Their work ethic was amazing and so appreciated. Brian and Tom and everyone on the team are people of integrity who take pride in their work, and it shows. I know I’ve used superlatives repeatedly in this review, but they are indicative of how highly we regard the work and the integrity of this team.
We highly recommend ALC Design.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience with ALC Design, LLC, and highly recommend them for any type of renovation. Our project Included a third garage bay, a mud room, a laundry room and widened some hallways to add built in benches and cabinetry. We also had several tile projects and replaced some older counter tops in the bathrooms.
Our lead Project Manager was Tom, and he was truly a pleasure to work with. He understood the vision perfectly and helped me to make educated decisions on things I struggled with. He was at our house every morning ready to go and handled every little detail (including several unforeseen changes and additions) with ease as the project unfolded. Mark and Will also assisted Tom on a few occasions, and they were great to work with as well. I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the PM’s. We hope to do a master bed and bath renovation in the future and would love to have ALC back.
Our project included a kitchen renovation and three bathrooms. From the beginning of the design phase all the way through to completion Brian always made sure we were happy. He is very fair, very organized and super reasonable. His team was very responsive, neat, and pleasant to work with as well.
The lead person on the job was Octo. If you can get him on your job….do it! He is a perfectionist and cares about the quality of the work like it is his own home. He worked closely with us throughout the project and made sure we were informed every step of the way. Like any project it took a bit longer than expected due to unforeseen things that came up but other than that we were extremely happy with how everything came out. The only thing we were not jazzed about was the quality of the work the plasterer did. Our painter had to do a lot of fixing before painting. Other than that, we were very satisfied. We would highly recommend ALC Design for your renovation projects.
I hired ALC Design to do a complete remodel of my kitchen after having them rebuild my outdoor deck during the summer of 2017. After the deck project I had very high expectations for ALC Design. Therefore, in early 2018 I gave Brian a detailed scope of work of what I expected for the kitchen remodel project.
We went through a design phase where the color 3-D renderings of the new kitchen gave me a good feel for how everything would look once the remodeling was completed. Then we started a complete demolition in November, and the project was completed about a week ago.
The final kitchen result meets my high expectations.
Kris P., the project manager, for both the deck project and the new kitchen, was a great help in scheduling craft labor and inspections, as needed. As usual his perfectionist work ethic made all the difference. Everything from the tile floors to the new kitchen cabinets and their trim work, to the modified mounting of a Tiffany light over the new island, to all the other necessary details, were done with perfection as the final result. Overall, an impressive result from an impressive company. Before I retired, I worked with a lot of contractors on large construction and turbine machinery installation projects, and I am not easily impressed. Hopefully this will get me a repeat customer discount on the next project I want them to work on.

We worked with ALC to finish our basement and to turn a sunroom into a 4-season playroom. The project ended up being much more extensive than we had planned due to a lot of unforeseen issues in our basement that needed to be fixed which added up to a lot of money as well and Brian worked with us to ensure we didn’t have to give up anything from our original scope and to keep the cost under control so that we could financially still afford the project.
Our lead carpenter changed earlier on during our work, and both (Matt and Octo) were great to work with. Your lead carpenter is there every day, so you really get to know each other. Any home renovation is stressful, but we also did it while I was pregnant the plan was to be done before the baby came but due to the issues in the basement and my daughter coming early that didn’t happen and Octo and Brian were very respectful and worked with us to ensure the final touches they were doing weren’t disruptive as we adjusted to becoming a family of three.
In the end the space came out even better than we imagined. Our basement is finished, and my daughter has a wonderful playroom. We have already received so many compliments on both spaces. It also feels good knowing the space is safer now too that our electrical and plumbing are up to code. The only one item I wasn’t 100% impressed with was the painters they used, but they are coming back in the spring to do some touch ups and make that right.
I would highly recommend ALC to anyone.
We had an extensive, 4-month job done on our house. We 1) combined a dining room and kitchen into one open space and made a cathedral ceiling 2) replaced and old shower with a custom shower and 3) combined a small bathroom and laundry room into a larger bathroom with laundry within it. This last portion was in our finished basement.
ALC was able to update all spaces beautifully at a quality mid-range price point.
The owner and staff are friendly and a relationship is built in working with them. This is key because there is a lot of back-and-forth in the process and it essential to keep communication open to cover all the little details that come up. We had some changes during our process such as going from vaulted to cathedral ceiling in our design and adding central AC. They were flexible with those changes.
The process is fast and furious with lots of details to cover and decisions to be made quickly. One must be sure to review every detail of the job and communicate preferences so that everyone can be on the same page. There were a few miscommunications here and there, but most things were able to be resolved. ALC was very timely for us, starting the job quickly after agreement and kept within the stated timeframe. If you don’t find much info/reviews about them on the web, don’t fear. They concentrate on the Better Business Bureau for reviews. Perhaps they’re more of a “word of mouth” thing.
